Mari's Moments

My personal Top 10 list

Some higlights of my life in 2008.

My Christmas Poem: A Child's Lesson

A Child's Lesson I saw her A beautiful child with no name  I asked her who she was, but she didn't say a word. No matter how loud I shouted; no matter how much I longed for her to open up, she stayed silent. And I felt lost.   I saw her face in a dream. She was radiant. Her eyes were perfect, her skin so smooth. She was determined and smart. And laughed without care.

He watched Santa go from Europe to South America and when he started getting close to Mexico, he knew it was only a matter of time. Of course, he needed to go to bed before the impending arrival of Santa and his sleigh so he wasn't able…

Getting fruitcake for the holidays is probably not at the top of your child's Wii-filled wish list. But if you can get them away from their video screens for just one night, you and your family won't be disappointed in Theatre Arlington's sweet holiday comedy, Fruitcakes.

Visit with Santa

My 7-year-old son is at the age when he really wants to believe in Santa Claus, but has some doubts. I took him to see Santa at The Import Store in downtown Fort Worth and wondered how he would react.

Think of this game as the "Best of Show" for the toddler set. Each player navigates around the board to collect three tokens that represent stages of preparation -- a clean bill of health from the Get Better Center, a shampoo at the Purr-fection salon and a bow to accessorize your pet's look. The first player to collect all three items and arrives Prettiest Pet Show wins the game and the blue rib…

I believe
