Car seat concerns?
This car seat stuff can be kind of overwhelming: Face forward or backward? Which seat is the safest? Which will fit in my car? What can I afford?
Breleigh has surpassed the minimum 1 year and 20 pound-mark for changing to forward facing, but after doing some research, we have decided to keep her rear facing as long as we can. She's never been forward facing, so I figure she doesn't know the difference, right? Here is a really good site that gives lots of evidence as to why children should stay rear facing longer.
Now that we have that question out of the way, it was time to start looking for seats. I found this website that was a big help. It has recommended seats, videos on how to install them, FAQ's on just about everything and more.
Everything I read linked to the Britax seats -- they would allow us to do extended rear-facing (with the Boulevard up to 35 lbs.) and they have the five-point harness and many other features we like.
We went with the Britax Boulevard and have now used it for a while and really like it. It was super easy to install, too! But, if you are as worried about installation as I am, go to this site and find a car seat inspection location near you!

We have a Britax Boulevard and find it quite sturdy. I shopped around online and found good deal on a discontinued cover fabric. They are pricey, but I really wanted the side-impact protection. Sam frequently snoozes in his seat. I guess that means it is comfy. As far as rear- or front-facing goes, I guess it depends on what you are comfortable with. Sam's legs were curling up against the backseat, so we decided to switch him at 1 year.
