I've been watching the Olympics and especially the incredible journey of Michael Phelps. I love that his mom is getting the acknowledgement due her. True, Michael has been the one swimming, but don't you know it was his mom, Debbie, getting him up at 5 in the morning and driving him to practice?!
I comiserate with Mrs. Phelps since my son has been training for cross country the past couple weeks. I've been setting my alarm for 5:45 to get him to a 6:30 practice. This morning was just a touch more painful - He had to be there at 6 a.m. and in the rain!
Oh well, maybe he'll run the mile in the Olympics one day - and they'll have a segment on me - the mom who got her son to practice!

I'm the mother of 2 teenagers - one in middle school, the other in high school. They're both boys, too.
