Finger food ideas?

What kinds of finger foods do you give a 9-month-old who only has 3 teeth, but who seems to be bored with the jarred baby food and is more interested in what we have on our plates? I've given him little pieces of banana, and I just discovered he loves mandarin oranges, and we give him those little puffy star things by Gerber. What else should I try? I'm paranoid about him choking on something, and he's not very good at chewing, but he needs to get some practice, right?

Sam learned to eat solids using cooked sweet potatoes, steamed pears and apples, and steamed (from frozen) peas and carrots. They really helped him develop his coordination and gave him the pleasure of a new expereience. Cataloupe is great as well but make sure it is tender and in smallish bits. Oh, thawed mango is very squishy and can be cut into bits easily. They love it!

Well, Cheryl... Breleigh LOVES watermelon and canteloupe, and they are so water based that if you cut them into little chunks, they are fine. She also likes lunch meat, like turkey and ham. Or grilled chicken cut into small pieces. And bread or tortillas torn into small pieces, and, of course, Cheerios... Oh, and she still has NO teeth and does just fine with all of them! Hope this helps!
