It's the most hectic time of the year

This weekend just had to take the cake, although I know it'll get much worse.

I was apart from my family for the longest stretch of time in Breleigh's 13-month life. I was in Charleston for four nights -- seemed like a month.

In covering TCU, this time of year is easily the hardest and most hectic.

Football isn't finished playing and basketball just started. The two sports only overlap for about a month and a half, but it gets a little crazy. Lots of time away from the family.

Then you add in the fact that it's Christmas time and you get the most hectic time of the year.

But it's also the most wonderful time of the year.

I love football. I love the beginning of basketball season (and the excitement this year with a new coach).

And Christmas is my favorite holiday by far.

I love being with family. I love finding the perfect gift for our nieces and nephews. This year will be especially fun with Breleigh being older.

So while it will be hectic, it'll also be wonderful, and I'll love every second of it (just give me a few minutes to realize that... I only slept four hours last night!)...

Only 37 shopping days left! (sigh)
