My life as a single mom
My husband has left me. That's right, he has left me for a business trip for the week. Leaving me to hold down the fort and be the only parent for our lovely two children. I have to admit, that it’s 6:30PM on a Friday night, and I can’t wait to go to bed. I am beat!
How do single parents do it? I can't wait for my husband to get home every night so he can help with the kids. I can't imagine doing what I have done this past week on a continual basis. I guess we all adapt to our environment, but I personally want to give kudos to all you single parent out there. That's a huge undertaking! I've only had a small dose of being a single parent however; it makes me appreciate all the single parents out there, and what they do everyday for their children.

I spent 2 1/2 years as a single mom, and let me tell you, it was a difficult and lonely place to be. It did, however, force my son and I to develop a special bond. Then, when I remarried, it was a pretty difficult adjustment -- to start sharing my son and sharing responsibilities when I had been so used to doing everything my way.
Check out my blog, That's Why We Can't Have Nice Things!
That would be a tough adjustment. My hat goes off to you.
