She's have a(n organic) baby!
Well, we just found out this week we are having a GIRL!!! We are so excited that she looks healthy and all looks well! Because of this baby, I am back in the market for baby items.
What I am also excited about is what all available to us as moms and soon-to-be-moms! It all is so much more expansive than even 5 years ago when I had our first daughter. Moms are going out as entrepreneurs and filling the needs of other moms. It seems all the gadgets and gear are more prolific as well as user friendly. Diapers and wipes are being manufactured without being bleached with chlorine. Bottles are now being made BPA-free! More organic clothing and foods are available. And on top of it all, many are being produced in more eco-friendly ways! I love it!
We have to be aware of what we put on our and our kid’s skin (chemical-free lotions/soaps, fabrics), what we use for cleaning products (non-caustic), and what and how we eat our foods (how they are stored and cooked). How exciting to be a part of a time when people are more aware and demanding of the market to create much safer alternatives that are also produced in environmentally friendly ways! We still have a way to go, but at least we are going in the right direction!

Hey Moms!
My intention in blogging here is to document my navigation of "going green" one step at a time so to possibly help other green urban mamas in the DFW area do the same while facing the challenges of living in the urban jungle, but without feeling like we are sacrificing our style and trendiness as Dallasite mamas. :-) Going green can be daunting in terms of where to start, but it is something we all need to do. I hope to make it fun and easy so that over time (not over night) we all become more educated and greener in the process!
