The Green Urban Mama

To use cloth or disposable in the new year?

Happy New Year, Moms! This is a great time for reflection upon our goals and dreams. For me, I am now less then 4 months away from delivering our second daughter and am facing certain nesting, clothing, and diapering goals before she gets here.  It sounds crazy, but before last night, I had it in my mind that: “We’re having a baby next year…”.  Well, that year is…

Santa Sightings!

Our daughter saw Santa flying last night!  She swears by it and I believe her!  Did any one in your family experience a sighting?  Were jingle bells heard?  Did you hear his laugh, or did you see lights in the sky?  Was there commotion on top of your roof?  If you or your kids caught a sight of or heard jolly Ol’ Nick last night please tell us!  He shows up in the most d…

You want WHAT else?!?!

OK, I am about to hit the wall!  It seems that wherever we go, whatever store we go into, the moment we pass through the door my 5 year old daughter starts with the barrage of questions…“Can we get a treat for me?  Oh, I really wish I had…!  Can I pleeeeease have…?!?”

Ways to wrap your presents for free (well, almost!…

Well, it is that time of year when many are rushing around to get their Christmas shopping done and all wrapped.  I have witnessed that all my friends and I have become as focused on our to-do lists as a cougar is on a fresh prey he is about to attack.  All else seems to fall to the wayside as we dart here and there, often with the kids in tow, getting it “all done!”

She's have a(n organic) baby!

Well, we just found out this week we are having a GIRL!!!  We are so excited that she looks healthy and all looks well!  Because of this baby, I am back in the market for baby items.

Show your personality with reusable grocery bags!

I am so excited because it is finally becoming the fashion for people to carry reusable shopping bags!! I still see a huge number of people still picking up their groceries in plastic bags (naughty, naughty!), but simultaneously, I am seeing many more people than before toting their fabric bags into the store and it just makes my heart smile. The Green Urban Mama

Hey Moms!

My intention in blogging here is to document my navigation of "going green" one step at a time so to possibly help other green urban mamas in the DFW area do the same while facing the challenges of living in the urban jungle, but without feeling like we are sacrificing our style and trendiness as Dallasite mamas. :-) Going green can be daunting in terms of where to start, but it is something we all need to do. I hope to make it fun and easy so that over time (not over night) we all become more educated and greener in the process!

I also have a business from home helping others turn an everyday family expense into income. I do this so I can be with my daughter and take advantage of our wonderful time together. I love offering insights into that realm of entrepreneurship! Let's talk and network, ladies!
